The Rebirth of Lil Wayne
With unquestionable street credibility and critical acclaim, Lil Wayne has firmly laid to rest all doubt that he is anything less than the best rapper alive today. Wayne’s silky flow, along with his uncanny ability to weave incredible metaphors and similes in taunt rhymes has captured rap fans around the world.
Armed with his latest release, Rebirth, Lil Wayne will once again take the world by storm. As the album’s title suggests, Rebirth is all about change and transformation and represents the rapper’s development as a man and as an artist. "On this album I want to show my growth as an artist," says Wayne. "I want my fans to see how far I have come musically."
Rebirth sees Lil Wayne crossing over to the world of rock. "I play guitar on 80 percent of the songs, and there's a lot of rock influences and rock beats. I also have Travis Barker on the album. But I don't want people to think I'm trying to do something I can't do. Don't think you're going to put on the album and hear me screaming and singing."
"The Rebirth album is just me expressing myself without any boundaries. Without any margins, without any guidelines," Lil Wayne sums it up. "[I'm] trying to do something different."
