WATCH: The Sounds' Shock Sessions performance.
WATCH: Our exclusive interview with the Sounds.
For nearly a decade now, the Sounds have been releasing albums filled with synthesizer-soaked, new wave-influenced rock and pop. On their latest release, Something to Die For, the Swedish quintet show no signs of slowing down as they crank the synths to 11 and dish out an album filled with club-ready tracks, prompting our absolute need for a dance party with Maja Iversson and the bunch.
The group obliged and treated us to one of our most dance-tastic Shock Sessions to date, featuring the classic cuts “Painted by Numbers” and “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake” as well as a couple of their latest tracks (“Something to Die For” and “Better Off Dead.”) Warning: This session may cause the irresistible urge to shake your ass.
Maja and the guys also sat down with us to talk about how they’ve always considered themselves a party band, pushing their electronic sound further, and the exact moment they knew they’d made it as a band.
